homeschool track spring training

A mere four days after the last actual winter storm, spring technically sprung on that day, March 20 and we started some homeschool track spring training. We went down to the Sioux Park track like we did two years ago but the high schoolers were using it. We decided to run on the sidewalks around the park instead.

Everyone was doing great until about halfway through the half mile. That's a lot of halves. I was holding Ezra's hand for support in the end though he started out in front. Ha ha.

Stretching, or as some friends thought, trying to put the car over.

Selfie while we waited for daddy and Noah to return from their longer run. Noah has actually been running pretty consistently since this day. He runs about half the time during the week on his own or sometimes with Evie.

I took a selfie with Ezra in order to remake the one I took two years ago

Here it is. CUTE LITTLE EZRA! Gah!

Another reason we wanted to go to the track was for Terry to begin training for another half marathon, his forth in the last few years (first and second from 2016, third from last year). He always says that if he's not running in something competitive, it's hard to get him out of bed and running consistently. So the following day, Friday, Terry was off doing his first long run of the training season and I took the kids for a walk. The snow was nearly all gone and it was beautiful outside. There's Ezra at the bottom of the hill up the road from our house.

I felt so invigorated afterwards that I finally removed the antique bike along with its Christmas lights that had been up since even before Thanksgiving Day.

He ran an hour and a half that day!! 😱

He always finishes so strong but tired. He puts it all on the line.

After he recovered and ate some food, he removed the remaining Christmas lights from the gutters. We are finally free of them! But while he was doing that, Samuel accidentally knocked the ladder over onto Terry's Malibu creating this lovely dent in the fender. Ah well. We took it in stride because it goes well with all the hail damage and at least it wasn't a window, again. Not to mention the rust mess under the car bra.

The following day, Saturday, was even beautifuller and I painted my naked toes.

I also completed another long forsaken project that weekend, filling up these three photo albums with pictures from the last three years. ✔
