Terry's 40th birthday!

Terry's big 40th birthday came on September 3rd. I scoured the internet for funny pictures to share on his facebook wall and this was my favorite. 😆

This one was also good. He said that I gave him the hardest time about turning 40 compared to anyone else. That's my side of the family for you!

The festivities actually started the day before on Sunday the 2nd at church. Terry had a very big day that included presenting with his Utah mission trip team for Sunday school and then preaching (the last several years he's ended up preaching on or around his birthday for some reason).

It was quite a large crew that turned up to hear about the Utah trip

After church Terry's family and us went to Red Lobster to celebrate Alice and Terry's birthdays (her's was August 26th). The kids always enjoy those lobsters.

Next we all came to our place for cake, ice cream, and gifts. Noah put Luna like that. 😄

"Happy birthday to you!"

There's most of the crew, including Jerry's feet. 😂

Cake time!

We got Alice a Xylophone for her chickens to play with...

...and this sign. Ha!

Terry started researching cabin properties Jerry was interested in, but for some reason I could hardly keep my eyes open and fell asleep. I like this photo.

Shari took both black and white ones. "Bring out a screen and they will come."

The following day, Monday, was actually Labor Day and so Terry was able to have the day off from work. Yippee!

Evie had spent the night with Grace the night before and on our way over to pick her up we stopped and looked at a Mini Cooper on a nearby lot. We've both always really liked those cars. It was actually a really good price but ended up getting sold after we were kind of interested in it, but since it went to a dealer, we followed it and test drove it a week or so later. The price was way higher so we didn't even have a good excuse to be interested in it anymore.

Picking up Evie from Grace's.

Back at the house Terry just wanted to chill at home. How "chilling" includes playing a card game with the littles I don't know. But he just wanted to relax for the day! I had really debated about doing another surprise party for him like I did for his 30th. That was amazing. But I sort of ran out of time to plan one. Then I asked around to my friends to see if they'd be available to come and celebrate with us sometime. I talked to Terry about it over the weekend and he was too stressed about Sunday to even fathom any plans. By the time Monday came, all he really wanted to do was rest. So that's what we did.

He watered the garden.

We played outside.

I took some pictures. Look at how big and beautiful our apples are this year!

My always beautiful dahlias were still going strong since they first bloomed.

We played with the pets.

I didn't even cook! We got a take and bake pizza.

Since we had seen a Mini earlier in the day we had a hankering to watch The Italian Job.

After the movie we came upstairs to eat some more cake and open more presents. I saved this wrapping paper from who knows when and used it for the special occasion. I thought all those cow jokes were just perfect.

Happy birthday to Daddy!

Oh yes, earlier in the day, before we went to Shari's we went to Scheels to get Terry his gifts. This hat was one of them. Luna ate the last hat that he actually wore. She also ate his sunglasses. Even though we always put everything away while we're gone and close all the doors, she still gets into stuff. From now on she stays in her kennel while we're gone.

Terry also got some new comfy shoes.

Cake time!

😍 The frosting recipe on the Hershey's cocoa box is the best ever.

While we had been downstairs watching a movie, Steven and Prae had brought over these Nutter Butter cookies but we didn't hear them. It was a bummer to miss them but the cookies were amazing.

Next Mia S. stopped by with a gift from the four of them, Paul, Jana, Mia, and Jack. It was a jar full of 40 things they love about Terry. Each of them wrote ten things down.

That's a lot of sweet messages!

I liked the ones about his temper best. 😂

And there were a lot more than one paper per person that mentioned his humor. He is pretty funny.

But actually the fun didn't stop on his actual birthday. Three days later Evie made a sweet card for him...

...and also a little Lego Mini Cooper!

How cute is that?!

Happy birthday to Muh Hunny! I love you so much! We all love you so much!
