homeschool track meet 2018

On May 11th Noah, Evie, sand Samuel competed in the track meet that they had been preparing for, especially Noah who had run quite a bit. It was the second meet, for Noah and Evie, and the first for Samuel. They put the homeschoolers in bleachers far away from the rest of the Christian schools. We had to yell out "Unclean, unclean" when we met students from the other stands. 😜😂

I had been hoping the track meet would be postponed due to the cold weather but we had no such luck. It was foggy, misty, and very cold.

Noah was first up with his one mile race.

There he goes on his first lap!

He stayed behind those two girls for longer than he needed to.

Here's a small amount of footage from his race.

Next up was his long jump.

I and another mom were in charge of a group of first graders like Samuel. They did their long jumps and softball throws first thing. Samuel is throwing the ball here. I guess we should've coached him at home before we went because he didn't seem to know what to do! Bummer because I've always thought he had a pretty good arm.

Evie ran in her relay next.

It was a good thing Terry was there because I wouldn't have been able to catch all their various events since I was in charge of a group of my own. Daddy hung out with our boys while I hung out with other boys.

The girls 200 yard dash came next and I noticed Grace and Jesse on the field along with Evie so we chatted a bit.

Pretty girl waiting for her turn.

Grace getting ready to race.

There goes Evie. She didn't get first place in everything this year which was maybe a bummer for her.

Terry, Ezra, and Noah watching Samuel start the relay. He's in the yellow shirt.

After the race Terry found me and said Samuel would not be running his next race in those ridiculous pants. I had forgotten to have him take them off and since they were too long and baggy they flopped around his legs the whole race and slowed him down. 😂

I like this picture of Samuel handing me the baton.

Here's part of Samuel's relay. We should've coached him about running as fast as he could too because he was so relaxed!

Evie did her long jump next.

The video of her jump.

The afternoon was pretty boring for the littles so they and others in Samuel's group spent a lot of time climbing on the bleachers...

...and rough housing with each other.

They were so cute!

This is Samuel's 200 meter dash.

Go Samuel go!

Noah ran the 200 meter dash and that just wasn't his thing. He's better at long distances.

Samuel's final race, probably the 100 meters.

He doesn't look like he's a hurry does he? 😆

Ezra passed out almost immediately when we left. It was a very long, very cold day. We were so relieved to be done and go home.
