Easter 2014 / Noah's party

Since the day after Noah's ninth birthday was Easter and I had the idea to combine his family birthday party with Easter dinner, we celebrated both on Easter Sunday. Before dinner was the egg hunt. The way we do it is by labeling the kid's eggs. They're only allowed to pick up eggs with their initial on them. Samuel needs all the help he can get and that's what daddy does (he also hides the eggs).

Noah found a tough one in the corner.

Ezra observed the fun from his swing. He also concealed one of the kid's eggs behind his back.

My dad and Nathan played a game of catch during the hunt and mom and Ana grilled on the porch.

What lovely weather we had that day.

The other eggs the kids find are the numbered resurrection eggs. Each of the twelve eggs tell a different portion of Jesus' story. Evie always seems to be eating that bread

We saved the final egg for a very special announcement...

Noah read it for Evie - a poem about a new cousin. Nathan and Ana are having their first baby in November!!! I love Ana and Noah's faces. Noah yelled, "Ana's pregnant!" We'd been praying for this event for a long time.

I had been pretty stressed about making this meal but it turned out to be really easy. I'm so glad we all were able to get together.

Right after supper we sang Happy Birthday to Noah so we could get on to the main event of the day...

Mid-blow! The day before we had only given Noah a couple small gifts to tie him over until this moment...

He got a big boy bike!

He loves it!  It's a pretty decent bike so we've thinking it should last through all four kids. We hope.
