operation christmas child

For quite a few Christmases, we have been packing up a Christmas gift box for Samaritan's Purse to distribute to a child in need. This year the kids did all the shopping and some of the purchasing. Since about last spring we started giving them a very small weekly allowance. They have envelopes for saving and giving. Of course saving is really meant to be "spending," but they do have to save up enough to buy anything

So here is what they packed up for a little child somewhere in the world.

Shortly after we sent off our box, I read this story about an eight year old boy who ended up marrying the girl who received his box in the Philippines. Their story totally made me cry! It was like something out of a fairy tale - so sweet. So maybe our kids will end up marrying the child that receives their box ;)
That Evie face. She cracks me up.

Noah wrote a note to include in the box. So the person who receives their box would be able to track them down when they're older, just like the couple in the story... :)
